Community Center Programs
Through its affiliated organization, the Community Service Council of Greater Harlem, Inc., the Community
Center provides a variety of social services to those in the community. Founded in 1944, the Community Service
Council is an independent, nonsectarian interracial, multi-service social service agency affiliated with St.
Philip's Church, which offers the following:
Camp Program - The Fresh Air Fund, Friendly Town and private camp programs serve over 600 youngsters from 6 to 12 years old. For more information, please call 212-926-0281.
Food Pantry - Referrals are provided on weekdays 9-11 am. For more information, please call 212-926-0281.
Cultural Programs - A theater company, the H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players, performs several plays throughout the year at the Community Center.
**2006, May 26-June 18: H.A.D.L.E.Y. Players will present The Winter View, a play by Martha Thomas (Friday at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 2:30pm, and 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2:30pm).**

Senior Citizen Programs - Recreational, social, cultural and
nutritional programs are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at Senior House located at 220 W. 133rd Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues) from 10-2 pm.
These include arts and crafts, gardening, exercise classes, hot lunch and trips to places of interest.
Habitat for Humanity
Community empowerment and social advocacy is a continuing resonant theme in the life of the parish.
St. Philip's Church is a faith partner of Habitat for Humanity, a not-for-profit
community housing organization, which relies on volunteers to build and revitalize the community.
With the help of faith partners like St. Philips Church, Habitat for Humanity has completed over 100,000 units of housing in New York City.
